Hot on the heels of her beloved Marriage to a Billionaire novels, New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst nails it with the first in an all-new sexy romance series featuring red-hot contractor siblings who give the Property Brothers a run for their money!
Ever the responsible eldest brother, Caleb Pierce started working for his father’s luxury contracting business at a young age, dreaming of one day sitting in the boss’s chair. But his father’s will throws a wrench in his plans by stipulating that Caleb share control of the family business with his two estranged brothers.
Things only get more complicated when demanding high-end home designer Morgan hires Caleb to build her a customized dream house that matches her specifications to a T—or she’ll use her powerful connections to poison the Pierce brothers’ reputation. Not one to ignore a challenge, Caleb vows to get the job done—if only he can stop getting distracted by his new client’s perfect…amenities.
But there’s more to icy Morgan than meets the eye. And Caleb’s not the only one who knows how to use a stud-finder. In fact, Morgan is pretty sure she’s found hers—and he looks quite enticing in a hard hat. As sparks fly between Morgan and Caleb despite his best intentions not to mix business and pleasure, will she finally warm up and help him lay the foundation for everlasting love?
It’s been awhile since I have read one of Jennifer’s books, and when I saw this one available to read and review, I knew it was something I would like. Not knowing anything about construction or building a house, I was slightly hesitant, yet curious, to see just how much that would play in the story. (I mean, who are the Property Brothers?) >.<
While my knowledge of house building is non-existent, that didn’t keep me from thoroughly enjoying the story. I loved the background of Pierce Brothers, their banter and wit came off the pages and made for some heartbreaking, yet hilarious, moments.
Now as for the two in this story, we have Morgan and Caleb. Caleb is the oldest Pierce brother and the one that stayed behind to work with his father in the business. He is pushy, dominating, and a control freak and his struggles to open up to Morgan and to his brothers made for a great read. I loved how he pushed Morgan in the best of ways.
Morgan is what really made this book for me. I loved how tough, witty yet big-hearted she is. Her background was rather sad, and I couldn’t imagine dealing with the situation(s) that she did. I understood her hesitations when it came to Caleb, yet at the same time, I was pushing her to have a little fun!
Their banter made for some great foreplay and I loved their moments together. I did feel like it took too long for them to actually start things, and at times the pacing was rather slow and made for some boring moments. But it’s well worth it in the end!
All in al, I liked it! I love how Ms. Probst set up the story for the next book, and I am rather curious about that! If you love romance, and looking for something sweet, romantic and funny too, then I recommend it!
